During a trip to Australia’s Hunter Valley, me and some of my wine blonde friends swung into the executive tasting room at Brokenwood.  Our host was a charming “Frozzie” (French-Aussie), who caught us up on why the Hunter Valley does amazing Semillion, and why you should never, ever drink a wine if its turned into a brunette.  :)

Tobin “Toby” James, 9 “Fancy” wines, 4 different kinds of meat, and getting to spank the winemaker. Holy cow – what a night. Toby is known for his rockstar Paso zins and syrahs. And like the other winemakers out of Paso, he’s a cool dude. I think they must put fun juice in the water up there, because these guys are all cool.
